Fantastic. And the video is so well taken and great quality. I kept wishing I were really there. This place is breath takingly beautiful.

Ares – Sorry! Heh! ‘Here’, is the Seattle Puget Sound area. The Western side of the Cascade Mountains in Washington.
@Lifecomesfromwithin
Good. I want to move somewhere with a more “foresty” environment. BTW, where is “here”?
It’s wonderful here. Not that wet either. I think it’s the best. It’s like the Lord of the Rings set.
Oregon’s coast is like no other… it is only one of two states which has entirely public beaches, the other is Hawaii.
In 1967 Governor Tom McCall had the wisdom to sign the Oregon Beach Bill into law & declared
“It is one of the most far-reaching measures of its kind enacted by any legislative body in the nation. This bill guarantees that Oregon’s coastline will remain secure for generation s to come.”
Oregon was also the 1st state to pass a bottle bill in 1972 with McCall’s help
@AresCassell Jacksonville for 5 years.
@jetswing
Those are beautiful pictures. The forests there look so majestic. And I can suck it up during the winter. I’ll just wear an extra jacket. BTW, what part of FL are you from?
@AresCassell, haha…I definitely don’t miss the sticky humid Florida weather. Just make sure you can endure the wet winter in NW and you should love it here (it’s not so bad in Oregon). Plus, like you said, we have bigfoot here.
I decided that when I am totally finished with college (probably another 2 years) I am moving to the pacific northwest. From what I hear the people there are more openminded, there are many lush woodlands (I’m an environmental major), and I may even get the chance to see bigfoot. I hear it rains a lot there but it rains a lot here in florida too. Florida sucks ass. Don’t move here.
A circular polarizer was used for all the shots except for 50mm shots (which I didn’t have a polarizer for). Also a GND filter was used as needed.
I’ve lived in western Washington for 15 years but have never been to the coast. I can see I need to make the trip out there. Thanks for the inspiration, and nice job putting together this video.
Great work- I have meet friends all over the world and this video sums up “My Home”… Thank YOU!
I am an extreme outdoor enthusiast and would love to assist in any of your future work. Dive Master/Pilot/Rock Climber/Hiker…. etc

What filters did you use?
Really sweet.
Here are the major locations I can identify. Good luck!
0:35 – 0:43 Cape Kiwanda, OR
0:44 – 0:50 Cape Lookout, OR
0:55 – 1:02, 1:10 – 1:18 Shi-Shi Beach, WA
1:35 – 1:42 Aberdeen, WA
1:44 – 1:55 Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad
2:00 – 2:21 Cape Kiwanda, OR
2:30 – 2:40 Cannon Beach, OR
Every shot you see on this video were take on the Washington and Oregon coasts, primary on HWY 101 (the coast highway). Most were taken on the side of the road (no-name lookouts or I would just pull over whenever) so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly.
Hey jetswing your work is really impressive and i love the places where this video was shot .. could you tell me exactly where these places are at cause i wanna go there! (if you could write them in chronological order)
You’re right about Depoe Bay. I wouldn’t be able to survive here without Lincoln City and Newport so close by. I also visit Portland as ofter as I can. I always shoot all manual.
Depoe Bay is somewhere I have always wanted to live, just not as many jobs out there as in Seattle. The 50 is the next lens on my list to get.
Was the camera set on auto or manual for this?
Cool! I actually live in Depoe Bay.
The majority of the footage were shot with 17-40mm. There’s a few 50mm f1.4 shots and couple of 135mm f2 shots.
