Why didn’t he put this on one of his albums in the 60s? He made some strange omissions in that some of his best songs he didn’t put on albums.
great to listen to on any day man
great to listen to on a cold windy overcast rainy day.
This is a very beautiful, beautiful song! Undescribable.
there is such humility in this song, such lovely poetry.
amazing
It’s called no direction home
Words cannot describe Dylans lyrical genius.
Been his fan since his beginnings but never came across this one til the credits of Scorsese’s film “no direction known”. The best, touching, magnificent. Thank you.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Dylan is an absolute genius.
easily bob dylan’s finest vocal moment.
The Byrds do a beautiful version on Turn! Turn! Turn!
she’s a great photographer this is a great vid
it was a Times outtake, and was released on the now sadly mainly forgotten Biograph box set
Was this a Freewheelin’ outtake? How come it wasn’t released, would have become one of his greatest hits certainly.
A terrific video, and this is the greatest version of this very beautiful song.

Thank you…..
Thought I was a Dylan fan,but never heard this before.
Truly at his best.
This Is why I love him.
Thanks for sharing this – I’d heard it was beautiful but never got a chance to hear it. A truly moving song.
I’m not a huge dylan fan but this just might be the most beautiful song i’ve ever heard!
Thank you for putting up an original take with great visuals. Haven’t noted any good covers for this song here. For Dylan fans, check out ‘Every Grain of Sand’ and Sinead o’Connors’ cover of ‘I Believe in You’, if you haven’t come across it before.
Unbelievable..
Richard Flavell
